Outreach Pastor Marcus Marshall, River of Life Christian Center, Riverview, Florida
I used to think for me to be the greatest me I had to be in the best environment, had to have the best connections, or even have the most money. I'm here to tell you that is not true at all and I am a product of being the best me no matter where I am planted. When we think about changing the world we think of thousands of people in front of us in packed out stadiums, or just seeing the most radical things happen everyday in life, or being the richest, or even being the cutest. None of those things actually validate changing the world. I believe transforming the world is simply touching a person at a time in front of you. I promise God is more invested in you than He is concerned about what you do. God wants to not only be with you everywhere you are he also wants to flow through you no mater where you are or what platform you have. I use to work at Olive Garden washing dishes and I hated every second of it in the beginning but finally I began to see what was on the other side of this job which was my purpose. I believe some of us are in hard situations and we know we are called to change the world but it doesn’t look like it right now. I'm here to encourage you that me wanting extra money to shop and things brought purpose to me working at Olive Garden. I just really feel there is a grace to actually be in the darkest places, even in environments where nobody agrees with what your doing, and places where you may be mis-understood and actually bloom and be who God has called you to be. Will it be easy NO! But I will say to you that with every Great trial there is a great Victory on the other side.
I really want to encourage you so the Holy Spirit can move through you this week exactly where you are, no matter how bad of an environment you feel your in. Light is used to its greatest ability when shown up in dark places. You're a Christian which means you're the light of the world. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself in some dark places...you're called to bloom there. So I challenge you to spend time with God and ask him how can you bloom in the areas that He has you planted in!
